Are you living the life you want for yourself? If not, do you find yourself saying things like…

• I wish I could live in (a certain type of house).
• I wish I could go on (tropical island of choice).
• I wish I could buy _______ for my family.
• I wish I could go ________ and do ________.

If you find yourself wishing you had things that you can’t seem to afford, it might be that you haven’t  identified the underlying reason for wanting these things. More specifically, you haven’t realized that, in order to begin manifesting or creating the life you really want, you have to know WHY you want the things you want.

There’s something magical that happens when you know (and state) your WHY. Let me give you an example and then a simple activity to start manifesting your dream life immediately (yes, immediately).

Let’s say you love to eat organic foods but you find them expensive so you only buy a limited amount of them on your monthly budget. The ‘why’ behind this want is…

• Because I value my health highly.

This now becomes one of your powerful WHYs. You use a WHYs as a motivator to keep you moving toward your goal, especially when you get tired, overwhelmed, feel lost or helpless. Staying focused on your goal (or goals) helps keep you on the path to that life you keep saying you want for yourself.

Here’s a simple, but profoundly effective, activity to do on a regular basis. Stop right now, get a piece of paper and your favorite pen or pencil. Write on top of the page…WHY I WANT MONEY! You don’t have to have a set amount, but you could do that as a next step. For now, just start getting your WHYs down on paper.

Once you have done this activity (and remember, if you don’t do it, it won’t work), put this piece of paper somewhere you can see it during the day. Also, make it easy to modify and add to. Do NOT type it. Put it in your own handwriting…there’s also something magical about writing by hand.

OK, that’s all for now. Get your Why List started and then watch what unfolds. You’ll be surprised at how things begin to happen. Have fun with this! And keep us posted!

We’re told the meditate. In meditation we find the answers…or rather the answer find us. Sounds great.

Sit, breath, let your mind clear over and over again, until finally you feel a sense of peace, you’re able to think calmly again and move forward with more of your day and your life.

Meditation

Meditation

Then one day, in the middle of a meditation you begin to laugh as you finally understand that even meditation itself is a distraction from the simply profound, and yet often unacceptable, fact that ultimately it seems we are only here on Earth to make more of us.

We keep, as humans, desperately trying to make heads or tails of our aliveness and work so hard doing our best to justify our existence on this planet. We make things ‘mean’ things, we make things important and have emotion (which I believe we’re pretty much purely made of in the end) so that we ‘feel’ alive in some perverted way.

And yet, the only thing for me, is to remember that ‘in the end, we are all gone’ and that, for me again, the only thing that I can use to ‘justify’ the existence we all question is the emotion of pleasure you can both bring to yourself and to another; the ultimate is that bringing joy to another brings joy to ourselves.

So is meditation the answer? Are the answers in meditation? Sure, if it brings you joy and that in turn brings joy to other…I think that’s a great answer.

Just something to think about…

Women who do great things don’t sit around wondering what can go wrong; they sit around imagining all of the things that can go right!

One of my favorite things to teach women in our Creative Wealth for Women program is the power of the mind to ‘choose’ what it thinks about. At first, the person learning this concept usually doesn’t want to admit it. They say things like…

“But I can’t help it!”
“I can’t stop thinking about…”
“My mind just wanders.”
“I just can’t keep myself from thinking about…”

Yet the fact is, we CAN control our thoughts; it’s just that before we can, we must become aware of them.

This means we have to take time to notice what you’re thinking…and when you DO notice your thoughts, what kind of thoughts are they?

What are YOU thinking about?

What are YOU thinking about?

To find out, simply ask yourself these questions:

  • Are my thoughts positive or negative in nature?
  • Are my thoughts optimistic or pessimistic in nature?
  • Am I thinking about the past, the present or the future?
  • Am I creating my life or pretending to be a victim in some way?

Yes, noticing your thoughts takes practice because, for some reason, human beings have such a hard time accepting the idea that WE are at the root cause of all things life-related. And yet, when we do, we are all powerful in creating the exact life we wish to live.

Once you get pretty good at being aware of your thoughts, you’ll start to notice that you have certain thought ‘patterns’ that replicate themselves day in and day out. It’s these thought patterns that must be changed in order to change our lives. After all, even if you don’t want to admit it, we ARE what we think about most of the time.

Have you ever noticed that there is one thought that comes into your mind over and over again that then leads to the same additional thoughts that then leads you to the exact same conclusion or idea every single time? We often refer to this as a ‘chain of thought’ because one thought leads to the next and so on.

A friend of mine once told me that every time he thinks about getting himself a scooter to ride around town on in order to save money on gas (he has a large truck for work), he ends up deciding he should get a Harley!

What are some of your thought patterns? Take time today, and every day, to follow your thoughts. Then make a decision about whether you want to continue following them or you want them to follow you.

Happy Mother’s Day to all women…for you give birth on a daily basis to new ideas, new ways of thinking, new ways of being, new relationships, new possibilities and new opportunities for yourself and everyone you touch.

Today I invite you to do Mother’s Day differently. Don’t go out and spend money you don’t have. Don’t go out and eat food that you know is unhealthy for you. Don’t do anything out of guilt because the kids want to do something for you.

Take care of yourself today and all days because if you don’t, the birthing will cease and the lack of creativity in your being doesn’t serve you so that you can serve others. And isn’t that one of the things that gives us the most pleasure?

Happy Mother’s Day to you all!

Happy Mother's Day

Breeze Through a Window

Life’s perfect breeze

Just climbed through my open window,

Paying no regard to the screen,

And made love to my senses.

OOOOhhh…do it again, I plead silently,

Knowing full well the gratitude I hold for it

And the appreciation that goes through my heart each time it climbs over me,

like a first kiss from a new beau, not caring one way

or another if I’m there to enjoy it.

C’est la vie

I know that most financial intelligence programs seem to preach not using your credit card. A better question is, HOW to use your credit card so that it benefits YOU?

Most of us use Debit cards that are tied to our checking or savings accounts; and many of us use them online to purchase items over the internet. Even I am guilty of this. And yet, there’s some important information you need to know in order to use these plastic cards wisely.

I want to invite you to watch this short video on why you may want to actually CUT UP your Debit Card and use your Credit Card instead.

I know you may be wondering if I’ve lost my brains, but watch this video first and then decide. Remember, you can only make wise money decisions with wise information.

So, are you cutting? And remember, if you want to eventually take a vacation for free, use a credit card with points and PAY IT OFF every month!
