One of my New Year’s “resolutions” is to trust the moment I’m in. I spend a lot of time “remembering to be present” because I’m so often NOT! I like it when I’m present, though, because I feel really grounded and available for magic, beauty, truth and FREEDOM.
Money Zen is my metaphor for being with “what is”. It’s one thing to intellectualize, it’s another to be in action around the big “what is” (substitute “reality”).
Take my bank account, for instance. When I look at (and accept) how much money I have ~ right now ~ I am being with what is. I can make grounded choices about what to do with my money or begin working on getting more. I’m not wishing I had more or lamenting what I don’t have (both of which take me out of the present) ~ I’m living from a reality that actually gives me what I need. I just have to be willing to look and then “be with it”.
When I create my life from what I have, I can get all the information I need to make choices and decisions about what’s next. I am available for creativity. I am available for spontaneous ideas and connections that will move me in the direction I want to go. Like stepping stones… I take one step first and THEN look to the next one from there… not look five steps ahead and wish I were on that one already!
Here’s another metaphor. It’s like creating a meal from what already exists in the cupboards and in the refrigerator. Notice what is already here and create from what you have. Let the ingredients inspire the meal!
Money Zen… Kitchen Zen… Do you have a metaphor that works for you? I’d love to hear!
